  • SAINT CYRIL CHURCH
    RENOVATION – QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

    Dear Parishioners,

As previously announced, Saint Cyril will begin a planning study on June 1 to gather feedback about proposed church renovation projects and about the possibility of a major fundraising effort to accomplish them.  The parish has hired the Steier Group, a Catholic fundraising firm, to conduct the study.  I know that many of you have questions, so here are a few of the most common ones about the planning study process and what it could mean for our future:

Q: What is a planning study?
A:  A planning study gauges support for proposed projects and for a major fundraising effort called a capital campaign.  The planning study, which lasts four weeks, provides an overview of proposed projects that have been identified in a collaborative process involving architects and parish team members as beneficial to ensuring the future vitality of Saint Cyril.  The study also assists in identifying volunteer leaders and sets a financial goal should the parish choose to move forward with a campaign.

Q: How will the planning study determine parish support?
A: The Steier Group will survey the entire Saint Cyril community as a part of this planning study.  The firm will compile your feedback and present it to members of our parish leadership team.  Your feedback is vital to assisting the firm in providing the most accurate information to the parish leadership team regarding projects and a potential capital campaign.

Q: What can I expect as a parish member during the planning study?
A: The parish asks for your feedback and prayers during the study.  You will be asked to take part in a personal interview with a member of the Steier Group team or to fill out an online or mailed questionnaire.  You will be called by a Saint Cyril team member to set up your interview time.  Your input will help the parish to make wise decisions about the projects and a potential capital campaign.

I hope this answers many of your initial questions and adds to your excitement for the future of Saint Cyril.  If you have additional questions, please contact me at any time.

    Gratefully In Christ,
    Father Ted Prentice
